“I dream of becoming a pilot and flying people all over the world”. When Zuhair was eight his family had to leave everything behind and flee Darfur to Sana’a, Yemen. Without sufficient documents, he was unable to enrol in school. As conflict gripped Yemen in 2015, his hopes of returning to school were further dashed. This all changed through EAC support when, Zuhair began taking non-formal classes at a refugee support centre established by our implementing partner UNHCR and the Sustainable Development Foundation. Now in fourth grade, Zuhair and his classmates look forward to what the future holds. “If I wasn’t in school, I wouldn’t know how to face life.”
