Education Above All Showcased at Qatar Exxon Mobil Open 2017 Tennis Championship

Sport and education are vital components of a child’s development, which was emphasised by EAA’s presence at the sporting event.

At the awards ceremony following the match, five primary school aged children wearing EAC t-shirts were pictured with the finalists. The children held a #KeepThePromise sign in support of EAC’s ambitious commitment to provide access to quality education for 10 million out of school children around the world.

Over the course of the tournament, awareness was raised through an  EAA ‘booth in the tennis stadium which featured a map showing the progress of Educate A Child projects since 2012, while Educate A Child memorabilia, such as brochures, leaflets and children’s t-shirts were distributed to visitors, and donations were collected

Huge progress has been made towards meeting this aim of providing quality education, but there is still more to be done. EAA continues to call for global support for its effort to transform the lives of young people around the world through education.
