Dhaka Ahsania Mission is a non-government development organization founded by Hazrat Khanbahadur Ahsanullah (R), an eminent educationist, reformer and Sufi. The founding motto of DAM is ‘Divine and humanitarian service’. It functions since 1958 pursuing the aims of social and spiritual development of entire human community.DAM is one of the leading NGOs in Bangladesh. It has a long experience in developing and implementing programmes on adolescent education, non-formal primary education, non-formal junior secondary education, vocational technical education and formal education. DAM also has long experience to work in similar kind of working areas. Its UNIQUE II project and DAM-CLC project has been successfully piloting the multi-grade teaching learning approach in education centers- which has meanwhile earned UNESCO certification for its excellence and innovation. DAM track record of working with government primary schools is worth mentioning as the initiatives has contributed to improve school governance, local community and parental engagement and better learning environment in schools. So far, a total of 722,179 children have been covered by DAM through primary education both in formal and non-formal setting. DAM also has excellence in providing quality secondary education for adolescents from grades VI to VII and has covered around 55,000 adolescents from disadvantaged families. These children were integrated with a platform called Adolescent Development Forum (ADF). This forum has a vital role to empower them socially and culturally with leadership qualities. An engagement of their siblings and family members in the forum has been a value addition to a holistic development of these youth. Moreover, DAM has 42 ICT based CRC where ICT in education, social use of ICT, rights to information, youth development programs are being implemented since long. All these interventions implemented by DAM have meanwhile changed the lives of more than one million children, adolescents and youth so far. DAM has registered with the social welfare Act. 1961 bearing Registration No: 316, Dated: 31.01.1963. It also registered under Foreign Donation (Voluntary Activities) Ordinance 1978 with Registration No: 246, dated: 09.12.1987. Also DAM has relevant permission to work all over the country according to its legal status.
