About EACI

Opening up a world of education

Children love to learn. If they are denied access to knowledge, we also deny them the opportunity to change their lives for the better.

Right to Education

The inalienable right of every child to a quality education was first acknowledged in 1948 in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and has been refined periodically since.

EAA’s work is founded in the belief of the right of all children and youth around the world to access a quality education that respects and promotes their right to dignity and full development.

There are three important aspects of education as a human right:

Participation in quality education in itself: Access to education should be free of all barriers including costs--especially on the primary level. As active participants in their own teaching, children can raise the level of instruction.

The practice of human rights in education: Education should be free of discrimination and focus on full human development, strengthen respect for human rights, and promote understanding, tolerance and friendship.

  • Education facilitates the fulfilment of other rights: The foundational knowledge provided by quality education leads to a better quality of life.

"Humanity will not overcome the immense challenges we face unless we ensure that children get the quality education that equips them to play their part in the modern world." -- HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser
