Through strong community mobilization activities, public, private, and community resources are leveraged to improve access to education and school quality for girls. Key areas of strategy include: enrolment and retention of OOSC; improvement in teaching quality; increasing involvement and capacity of communities in school management; and enhancing the motivation and self-esteem of girls.

Monitoring and evaluation will provide regular feedback to allow changes in service delivery and implementation strategy to achieve the best possible results.  A stand-alone mobile tracking system has been developed to gather and monitor information on EG team activities along with registering village and school data. A communications strategy that is designed to engage community members at the village level in girls’ education will be employed.

Sustainability is strengthened through this model, which builds the capacity of volunteer community school committees to enable them to take over management of OOSC enrolment, help ensure retention, and run activity-based learning programs. The model is also aligned with India’s National Education Policy/Right to Education Act that requires free and compulsory education. Educate Girls is a key partner with the government of Rajasthan.
